To see what is on in English in Porto tonight, you would have to check four cinema programmes. This site does that for you and lists the English screenings at the NOS cinemas in Porto.
Four NOS cinemas
We cover these NOS cinemas in the Porto area:
- NOS Alameda Shop & Spot
- NOS NorteShopping
- NOS Gaia Shopping
- NOS Mar Matosinhos Shopping
The times come from the NOS website for today and the next seven days.
What VO means
NOS marks each session with a version. VO stands for versão original, the film in its original language. A VO session of an English film plays in English with Portuguese subtitles. We only list VO sessions.
VO alone does not tell you the language. A Spanish or Japanese film can also be VO. So we add a second check. We keep a film when NOS lists the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland or New Zealand among its production countries. We then check it against IMDb and drop it if IMDb says it is not in English.
This check is not perfect. A co-production can slip in, or an English film made elsewhere can be missed. The NOS page for the session has the final word.
Using the page
Load English movies in Porto. The page starts with today. Tap another day in the date row to plan ahead.
Each film card shows the original title, the poster, the running time and the age rating, plus an IMDb rating when one is available. Below that, each NOS cinema has its own row of times. A small label under each time shows the format and "Portuguese subs".
You can narrow the list in two ways:
- Tap a cinema name, such as NOS NorteShopping, to see only that cinema.
- Tap a format in the Format filter.
When you find a time, tap it. The NOS ticket page for that session opens, and you choose seats and pay there. Prices are on the NOS site.
