In Oslo, the English screenings are spread over the programmes of many cinemas. This site puts the ones at eight Oslo cinemas on one page.

Eight cinemas in Oslo

We list English-language screenings at these Oslo cinemas:

  • ODEON Oslo
  • Saga
  • Ringen
  • Colosseum
  • Vika
  • Klingenberg
  • Vega Kino
  • Symra

The data comes from filmweb.no, which lists the programmes of Norwegian cinemas in one place. That is why one page can cover all eight.

The Norwegian labels

Screenings in Norway carry short labels. These are the ones that matter:

  • Norsk tekst means Norwegian subtitles.
  • Norsk tale means Norwegian speech, a dubbed version. We leave these out.
  • Original tale means the original soundtrack.
  • Utekstet means no subtitles.

One film can have screenings with Norsk tale and screenings in the original language. We only list the original-language ones.

How we decide what is English

The Norwegian programme lists the languages of each film, but it does not always tag the sound of each screening. So we use the film's languages. A screening appears when the film is in English and the screening is not marked Norsk tale. We also check the film against IMDb and drop it when IMDb says it is not in English.

This check is not perfect. Now and then a screening can slip through or go missing. If a time looks wrong, the cinema's own page has the final word.

Using the page

Visit English movies in Oslo and pick a day. You can look up to a week ahead. Tap a cinema name under Cinemas to see only that cinema, or use the Format filter for 3D. Under each time you see the format and, when the cinema tags it, "Norwegian subs".

Tap a time to buy tickets. The link goes to the cinema's own ticket page when the programme has one. We do not sell tickets.
