To hear the actors' own voices in Madrid, you need a screening in versión original. This site lists the English-language screenings with Spanish subtitles in Madrid, so you do not have to read each cinema's programme yourself.

Which cinema we cover

In Madrid we list one cinema, Cines Verdi Madrid. We read its programme directly from the Verdi website, and we keep a screening only when two things are true. The film's language is English, and the version is "V.O. SUB. CASTELLANO".

That label is the one to remember. V.O. stands for versión original, the film in its original language. SUB. CASTELLANO means Spanish subtitles. A Verdi screening of an English film with this label plays in English, with Spanish text at the bottom of the screen.

Verdi also shows films from other countries in versión original. A French or Korean film with Spanish subtitles is still V.O., but it is not in English. We leave those out.

What you see on the page

Each film appears once, with its poster, running time and age rating. Under it you see the showtimes at Cines Verdi Madrid for the day you picked. We add an IMDb rating when we can find one, which helps when you do not know the film.

The listings cover today and the next seven days. A search box finds a film by its title.
