In Berlin, English films in the original version carry the letters OV or OmU. This site finds them for you. It lists the English-language original-version screenings at 17 Berlin cinemas, for today and the next seven days.
Two groups of cinemas
The first group is CineStar: CineStar CUBIX Alexanderplatz, Kino in der KulturBrauerei and CineStar Tegel.
The second group is the Yorck Kinos: Babylon Kreuzberg, Blauer Stern, Capitol Dahlem, Cinema Paris, Delphi Filmpalast, Delphi LUX, Filmtheater am Friedrichshain, Kant Kino, Kino International, Neues Off, Odeon, Passage, Rollberg and Yorck.
We read each programme from the chain's own website. Because Berlin has two sources, the page has a Source filter. Tap "cinestar" or "yorck" to see one group only.
OV, OmU and OmeU
Berlin programmes use short German labels for the language of a screening:
- OV (Originalversion): the original audio.
- OmU (Original mit Untertiteln): the original audio with German subtitles.
- OmeU (Original mit englischen Untertiteln): the original audio with English subtitles.
Our page only lists films whose original language is English. A French film in OmU does not appear, even though it has the same label. Under each showtime you see the subtitle language when there is one, for example "German subs". A showtime with no subtitle note is plain OV.
How to use the Berlin page
- Open English movies in Berlin. It starts on today.
- Pick a day from the date row. You can look up to a week ahead.
- Tap cinema names to narrow the list, for example Kino International and Delphi LUX.
- Use the format filter for 2D, 3D or IMAX at CineStar.
- Tap a showtime to book.
CineStar showtimes open the CineStar ticket page for that session. Yorck showtimes open the film's page on yorck.de, where you pick the session again.
CineStar can list a film under its German title. When it does, we show the English title on top and the German one below it. Each film also gets an IMDb rating when we can find one.
Prices are on the CineStar and Yorck sites.
