This site lists the English-language films at three Bergen cinemas, Konsertpaleet, Lagunen kino and BergenKino LUX, on one page, with showtimes for the next eight days.
Where the data comes from
We read the Bergen programme from filmweb.no, the Norwegian cinema guide. Each film there has a list of spoken languages, and each screening has tags.
The tags to know are:
- Norsk tekst: Norwegian subtitles.
- Norsk tale: Norwegian audio, so the film is dubbed.
- Original tale: the original audio.
- Utekstet: no subtitles.
We keep a screening when the film's languages include English (Engelsk) and the screening is not tagged Norsk tale. Under each showtime you see "Norwegian subs" when the screening has the Norsk tekst tag.
A note on accuracy
Filmweb does not always tag the audio of each screening. So for Bergen we work from the film's language and the dubbing tag, and that can let a wrong screening through now and then. We also compare each title with IMDb and hide films that IMDb lists as non-English. Before you buy, check the language on the booking page, especially when the same film also plays with Norsk tale.
Using the Bergen page
On English movies in Bergen you start on today, and the date row goes a week ahead.
To see one cinema, tap its name, for example BergenKino LUX. The format filter narrows the list to 2D or 3D when the programme lists them. Use the search box if you already know the title.
Each film card shows the poster, the running time, the age limit and an IMDb rating when one exists. The cinema names link to filmweb.no.
Tap a showtime to open its booking page, when filmweb.no has one. You choose seats and pay there.
